Drama Ducks acting school started 2025, in Blackwood. And is expanding into Hahndorf 2026

Drama Ducks is a student orientated drama school, following the interests and lives of its members, creating a flexible term schedule which will allow each student to have a say in what happens each class. Whether that be working on improvisation skills, developing voices, learning how to do auditions, writing scripts, creating productions from start to finish or other suggested topics. These ideas will be applied to the lessons with the experience, education and passion of the WWCC approved teachers.

  • Founded by Jack Chaplin, Blackwood High School graduate and founder/mentor of the BHS drama club. Jack is a Flinders University trained, authorised secondary teacher, local youth leader and aspiring artist who has trained and performed overseas. Over the past 8 years of youth leadership and 3 years as pastoral care worker at Hahndorf primary school, Jack has developed a deep understanding of supporting young people in their journey toward adulthood. Combining that with a passion for drama and teaching, Drama Ducks was created as a safe space for students to develop their passion for performing, learn more of what it means to function in our world today, develop long lasting and meaningful relationships and find a safe space to express who they are.

  • Lillian is studying Creative Writing at Flinders University, with a passion for creation and supporting young people to use their words to express themselves and understand the world. A youth leader in the hills and a drama devotee, Lillian has grown to understand the importance that creativity can have as young people face adulthood and learn how to express themselves.
